In the panel discussion about the future of the European Union, organised by the Fundación Civismo in Madrid, Rodrigo Ballester, the Head of the Centre concluded that the future of the european community could take one of two paths: a messianic one or a pragmatic one. What does this mean? First of all, it means that the EU has to decide: either it will vote in favour of the interests of the member states and put intergovernmental elements first, or it will continue to pursue a policy dictated by supranational institutions. The discussion was moderated by Jorge González-Gallarza, Director of Fundación Civismo.
