The participants of the panel discussion was Omar Ashour, Professor at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, Riva Ganguly, former Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, Jeffrey Sachs, Director of the Center for Sustainable Development, Columbia University and Frank Füredi, Director of the MCC Brussels Centre. The discussion was moderated by Rodrigo Ballester, Head of our Center.
During the panel discussion, participants engaged in an open debate on how to end the war. The following issues were discussed:
- The need for peace negotiations,
- some concrete proposals for solutions,
- the perspective of third world countries such as India.
We must not forget the origins of this war, which began in 2010 and, according to J. Sachs, is closely linked to NATO expansion.
